I'm afraid I'm starting to get nervous about grad school. Great. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Gotta get out of the south. Must.
I turned around in the Chinese buffet the other day and the man behind men was staring at men with a look of horror. I can't decide if it was a random coincidence, or if he was bothered by my baggy jeans with a wallet shoved in one back pocket and my car keys hooked to a belt loop. Either that or he was bothered by me stacking my to-go sky high.
I need to dry my t-shirts in a dryer. They're currently stretched out and too big. Murr.
I'm tired. I'm cranky. I'm stressed. Welcome to the last semester of undergrad.
God's "urban renewal plan for Sodom and Gomorrah" -- wow, that's a great turn of phrase. Seriously, you must be kidding.
Bedtime, I think.

Whew!
And, I'm back from Russia!
Seriously though, I'm probably the only person in the world who can pull off coming on from Russia to the South and finding colder weather for the first fews days. *sob*

Out of all the things that could get lost during my mother's second move in three years, it would -- of course -- be the box with my photographs in it. Of course...

Alien Update!
Alien -- I have decided -- does not appreciate it when I drive long distances. He starts hurting after an hour or so in the driver's seat and doesn't quit. Nothing excruiating -- just a nice, dull ache to let me know that he isn't happy. I suspect it's because the edge of the seat presses on him when I have my right leg extended to reach the gas pedal -- at least, it does in whatever new position he moved to after the whole "oh, you have something in your leg" *poke, poke* incident.
In other news, I now own two pairs of fabulous shoes -- which must be distinguished from kick-ass shoes or groovy. Yes, two pairs of fabulous. I will now go feel guilty for being a consumer.

Button, button...
The search for new buttons for Anna's blue coat continues.
And this site has some groovy buttons. You know, I might be able to justify the money for some really awesome buttons.
This one is quite nice and not too pricey, but I think I might need something that looks more finished. Or it might work. The buttons that were on the coat were quite oddly shaped to begin with.

Wouldn't a row of moons sticking their little tongues out be fun. Maybe too much fun. I think it's cute. Perhaps I could get one to go on my backpack.

This one is very stately, I think.

A star, mozhet byt?

And this little fire lizard just wins at life. Isn't he an adorable little salamander?

I have no short-term memory...none at all.
I have also rediscovered the gloriousness of the peanut butter and honey sandwich. It is a wonderful thing indeed.
Last night of work at Campus Safety. Kinda sad, really. I like this job. It's treated me well.
Fran and Natalie are headed down tomorrow to help me move out. I think I'm going to drag them down to Beale Street in the afternoon, because Natalie should do something fun while she's here. Stax would be neat, but I doubt that we have either the time or the money to do that. Beale has the advantage of not really having to spend any money if you don't care to. And perhaps there shall be dinner with Jim and Linda.
I found a nifty collection of Stax recordings on Amazon. I think I'm going to get two, one for my host family -- because Stax is cooler than Elvis -- and one for me.
Oh yes, the previously mentioned clothing situation has been resolved with a green plaid offspring of the mating of halter top and a corset. It works. And shopping with Michelle is pretty fun, because Michelle is pretty much made of awesome. Fabric shopping is even more fun, what with discussion of the possibilities for magenta silk and black silk.

And then I went to look for a Wild Goose...
I have decided that I should procure some sort of "going out in" top. Club wear, I think, is what this mysterious thing is called. Something somewhat sexy. Fun. Passably fashionable. Preferably something that works on my body type, and doesn't clash with my tastes.
I believe I shall be tracking down some sort of corset inspired top. One) I hate slinky fabric tops. I feel naked. I need structure! Two) I intensely dislike cap sleeves.
Does such a thing exist? I am not sure.
Since its Sunday, I hit the online versions of stores. Checked Charlotte Russe, because I think their clothes are pretty and my roomie has some cool tops originating from there. Conveniently forget that roomie is approximately half of my size. Remember when realizing that Charlotte Russe sells no clothing beyond a large and their large is more like a medium in the real world. Curse Charlotte Russe and decide they're too "girly" anyway.
Moving on. Hot Topic. Hey. Punk fashion. The website is annoying, but wait! They sell sizes of clothing which will fit me. Hmm, not in love with any of these tops on the models, but maybe worth looking into.
Running through the list of stores that exist in Memphis area malls. Decide to see what Torrid has. Borrow a friend's tape measure to see what sizes would actually fit me. Get all excited because they have a plaid corset top! Amongst some other rather groovy tops -- including a cool off the shoulders, 3/4 sleeve sweater that would probably be even better for my purposes.
Think I'm headed up to Wolfchase tomorrow with Michelle. Hopefully, I will succeed in finding something suitable. Stupid clothing impulses.
